Abe Bohrer helped me after my son had cruelly burned on a flight when coming back from Europe. Right after the incident, I was too preoccupied with the health of my son, but as days turned into weeks, I just could not let it go. It was really devastating how much my son had suffered and still was suffering. The airline never thought of apologizing or contacting us to see how we were doing. I was badly injured getting off a plane on an international flight, while traveling for work. I've received a serious second degree burn on an international flight when a broken tray dumped a full cup of scolding water on my thigh. The burn was extensive and very painful as my skin peeled off like a glove from the major part of my thigh. I spent 6 days in a hospital, and one year and half in tending my burn. Doctors told me that I could never again expose my leg to the sun since a protective pigmentation layer was destroyed by burn. I tried to get some compensation for the injury from the airline myself as I was reluctant to sue an airline. However the airline responded pretty heartlessly: It agreed to compensate me for medical expenses only. He was so energetic, knowledgeable, attentive and supportive! We communicated basically over the phone as he lived and worked in New York City and I live in Northern Virginia.
