Ewing and Ewing is a debt collections law firm. If you are sued by them, they are counting on you not to file an answer to their complaint. If you don’t answer their complaint within 20 calendar days (in Arizona) from the date you are served, they can request a default judgement against you. Once they get a default judgement, the can do all sorts of nasty things such as garnish your wages, take money from your bank accounts, and put liens on your property. The best way to prevent adverse action against you from this law firm is to file an answer with the court. Deny all of their allegations regarding the credit card debt. If it’s a party other than your original creditor, demand proof they have the right to sue on the debt. Chances are, the complaint they sent you has zero evidence that you actually owe the debt and has no account numbers or anything. Make them prove their case!

Ewing and Ewing was apparently bought out by Blitt and Gaines. Horrible people. They are debt collectors and I have reason to believe that many of the cases they are collecting on are not legitimate. They immediately go to court and get default judgments against people without even telling them what the debt was. They will not provide any information. And once you prove to them that their claims are false, it takes them literally forever to return the money that they illegally withheld from your wages. Ewing and Ewing was previously sued for bad business practices and the lawsuit was won. I'm pretty sure that's why they sold out to Blitt and Gaines. If they have gone after you I would suggest you go after them!

There is definitely something wrong with the way they do business. Sneaky, unprofessional, lying. Looking for any cracks in the laws for collecting. Be aware of this company because they don't give any Fair Debt Collections Act. They will unfairly get a judgement against a debtor then they will garnish wages without proper communication in connection with their debt collection procedure. They are a third party debt collector.

I had a debt i couldnt pay off, and went to garnishment. I was fine with that, but even after my balance shows "$0.0" they still syphon money out of my account. Very shady company. They do not even answer their phone.

The worse group of people. The lawyer does some unenthical things like serve once in 2011 for two accounts, never reports it to the credit agencies, no correspondence and sues you again 7 years later out of nowhere. Hell is a hot place.
