If I could give zero stars, I would. I was given Steve Yount's name as a referral from many folks on Next Door back in Jan 2024. I called and waited a few days for him to call me back but he finally returned my call the day the paperwork for appeal was due. I felt relieved bc he directed me to have him included on the paperwork for appeal and said he would represent me when the court appearance date came up. He knew it would be 90 or so days away. I emailed him all the documents I had and I communicated with his office to confirm receipt. So when I received my court date, I reached out to him by phone and email and sent the updated DOT letter with my court date, even though his received the form too. Aside from my nervousness about my own stupidity in speeding, I was getting anxious bc court is tomorrow and the attorney I thought was representing me, is blowing me off. I even asked him/his secretary to let me know if they couldn't represent me so I could get someone else. So I called one final time this afternoon with an urgent message and I just got this email at 2:47pm THE DAY BEFORE COURT: Unfortunately, at this time I am unable to take on any new cases as my court schedule is very heavy at this time. Thank you Steve Yount Worst professionalism ever. Thanks a lot Steve.

Ive called and left three messages and no one ever answers. They handled a court case scheduled for a later date at calendar call instead and i was unaware! They said they served me ample notice, a total lie! If i could give zero stars i would. Oh and they dont care about conflicts of interest.

I hired Mr. Yount to do some guardianship work for me. He was very attentive and helpful until I paid the retainer and then he would not answer or return my phone calls or answer emails. At one time I waited 7 months for a return email and by then I had retained a real attorney. He filed something at the Brunswick County Courthouse that was useless and something I could have done myself. He did nothing for me and I had to file a grievance with the NC Bar association to get back most of my retainer. I would not refer him to anyone. He does not know what he is doing. Extremely unprofessional.

Yount is an excellent attorney never wasted my time or money. Honest and experienced. I've dealt with him on several occasions and intend to continue working with him in the future. I recommend him to friends and family all the time.

By far Steve yount one of the worst attorneys I’ve ever encountered. Extremely poor communication, disgracefully unethical, and very unprofessional inside and outside the courtroom. My mentally inhibited father ask him to represent him. Mr Yount knowingly represented my father, acknowledging his mental delay, took his money, my father had to make multiple attempts to reach out to him or his office. When in the courtroom, very unorganized and absent minded. His office staff does not help his situation. They are very rude. Currently reporting this attorney to BAR association because his mis representation of mentally incapacitated clients. Stay away from this office as there many attorneys to choose from in shallotte, nc
