I brought a case from another law firm to Alexa in 2021. She was shocked at the story I had to tell in terms of issues with my ex around parenting time, contempt and child support. The case drug on longer than I would have hoped and Alexa seemed to be on the short end of the stick in every argument against my ex's attorney. There were many hours of preparation that went into our first court date only to have the judge decide not to listen to our case and force counseling. About a year later we went back to court and Alexa and her team spent hours again on prep work, deciding they could use little of what they'd charged me to prep before. The judge was absolutely horrible to deal with and after two years, decided to not listen to our case as she had other things to do and wanted us to work it out. After hearing that information, I went back into the room with Alexa and she told me "I never would have filed this case in the first place". After charging me over $30K in legal fees across two years, she decides to tell me I don't have a case? I find it highly unethical to charge a client that much money and wait until you lost again to tell them you wouldn't have filed the case.
