Attorney Mark Lewis is superb. He’s handled our many transactions for over 2 and almost 3 decades. Courteous and professional setting!!! The best part is his prices are reasonable; a RARE combination!
We used Mark Lewis for a recent closing on our second home, and the experience was terrible. From the lack of communication to the incredibly poor attitude and the lack of concern for urgency about anything, we couldn't have been more disappointed. Our closing was by mail, and Mark failed to inform us that he had not received some important information from our lender until a day before the closing - not enough time to even get us the paperwork we needed. He refused to do anything electronically, and that slowed the entire process down as well. There was confusion about the amount of money he was to collect from the sellers for our home warranty, and so we ended up paying more out of our pockets for the home warranty than we should have. He also lost the deed to the house, so our sellers had to drive from hours away just to take care of the problem that he caused. His errors and lack of attention to detail cost us time and money, delaying our closing and having us rescheduling movers and installers and other professionals and then having to reschedule them time and time again. A process that should have gone smoothly was so frustrating for all involved. We love our house and are so happy with our purchase, but choosing Mark Lewis to take care of our legal needs was the biggest mistake we could have made.
As a realtor it's important that a closing attorney be courteous, patient and help my clients understand all the documents being signed. I find Mark Lewis to be all of the above. It's also good to know that he will be there for them for any other legal matters or information they may need in the future. Thank you, Mark, for taking good care of my clients. Doesn't know what business he wants or not. Mark Lewis accepted a refinance matter from me for my condo on a MetLife Legal plan. In fairness there was a delay by lender, but of course all lenders are very busy now. When the lender finally got ready for the legal work, Mark Lewis left me high and dry by having his admin person call me to inform me he would not perform the work. As a result he is also losing my significant estate work. And on the MetLife website he is still listing himself as taking this work. Mark Lewis, I'm glad you're not taking my work. Apparently you don't know which end is up.
MARK A LEWIS and his assistant Yvonne were a pleasure to work with through this difficult and timely process. They did what they were required to do, thoroughly and professionally. The only problem we encountered was, the Attorney Fee we were billed was $350 in excess of the fee originally quoted. Mr Lewis and staff did all they promised but they did note do so at original rate quoted. For this reason I give Mark A Lewis a fail. It is a difficult and expensive process for the client in the best of times. To overcharge for services, in the final stage of the process is, simply, wrong! In my business, if we charge more than the amount quoted, we will lose a client should the client be in this position of needing my services again! Mr Lewis can charge whatever he wishes but if that charge is more than the rate quoted, verbally or written, Mr Lewis will not see this client again!
