Releasing convicted killers, not prosecuting crimes committed in New Orleans, not forcing the prosecution of crimes that have been written into law.and much much more. This is a horrible office within a corrupt government in this city. The crime is high because criminals know they will get away with almost anything because A) the police are not doing their jobs and B) when they do their jobs the crimes are not prosecuted. Replacement of government officials is needed. The mayor, city council and district attorney office all need to be replaced.
It’s a damn shame that tax paying citizens cannot get the simple assistance and/or information from an appointed team of officials that are supposed to support for them. I am outraged and disgusted with this department. It is shameful and embarrassing that the victim’s advocate did not reach out, answer and/or return any of my phone calls.
I've worked with kids most of my 70 year old life, advocated for them in courtrooms as a CASA, supported many struggling with academics, impulse control & experimentation with criminality. The level of violence teens go to in our city demands accountability, and for many of them as adults. If they get by with this brutal behavior it's like domestic violence perpertrators there will most often be no end to it. I was starting to have faith inJason Williams. But he does not serve the victimized citizens of our city or these kids by not making sure they learn that accountability and that everyday people can walk safely dow their neighborhood streets.
DA Connick had a good staff for the most part. Jordan and Cannizzaro were awful. I have to wait and see about the current one, although I can attest that a child affected by a trauma and his mates had lawyers that have been assisted fully by Mr. Williams.
What a joke, I was a victim of a mass car burglary. The DA ( part of the reason New Orleans is in such a bad state) decided to put the perp into a simple parent monitored program in an attempt to keep the kid from doing it again. He broke into 40+ cars in one night, this isn’t going to work. Actions require consequences to fit.
