Please DO NOT use this firm. I cannot even begin to explain how unorganized and inconsistent they were. We were in contact with what seemed like different people each week. It was difficult to keep up with the information they were giving us via email and phone call. Long story short, when it came time to close on my home, I received an email from what looked to be Kevin Schmitt and Associates telling me to wire the remainder of my closing costs to ease the transactions the day of closing. Considering my initial deposit a few months prior was a wire, and I am a first time home buyer I did not think twice. Turns out, the email was fake and Kevin Schmitts database was hacked exposing all of my personal information and probably many others. We did not receive a single apology, advice on how we could potentially resolve the issue, or any kind of acknowledgment during closing even though Kevin Schmitt sat in the room directly across us in plain sight. Not a single member of the firm addressed the hack until we asked and all they could say was “we have no clue what happened.” A firm dealing with peoples money, identities and livelihood should have some kind of secure, encrypted email system but all emails that came from them were just plain emails with my information in them. I understand people can hack into almost anything nowadays, BUT the way Kevin Schmitt and his agency handled it was disturbing. Please save yourself the stress and use a different firm!!!

Kevin does not take accountable for his office’s mistakes. There appears to be no proper verification executed when mailing out payments to respective parties. Kevin’s office sent my mortgage insurance payment to an outdated insurance carrier they had on record for me. Their office then dragged their feet in addressing the matter resulting in me having to pay out of pocket to ensure my present mortgage insurance was not terminated shortly after I closed. They take on way too many clients because of greed! This is more than likely the cause for them failing to pay attention when verifying who is to receive payment when issuing checks. Kevin’s office should be the one issuing me the refund and dealing with the previous insurance company to compensate them. It is now almost 3 months and this matter still remains outstanding. Prospective clients should highly reconsider dealing with Kevin and his associates. Take your business elsewhere!!
