He is not a good lawyer. After the couple thousand spend. While in court I could have represented my friend better than this clown did. He literally told him to take a plea deal yet my friend wasn't guilty. He didn't look at any of the information. Even the cop said it was b.s charges the mother was trying to push. Save yourself some time and avoid him at all cost.
13-1/2. When you find yourself facing 12 jurors 1 judge with a 1/2 a chance, you will be glad to have this office of attorneys working on your side. Very professional team of highly knowledgeable attorneys. Steve Kaplan earned the title of Michigans prosecuting attorney for more than 20 years! Now he is sitting on the other side of the table and helping people claim their true innocence. What more could you ask for in an attorney that knows first hand exactly how the system works. He has also taught law at Michigan State University, he's not just a step above the rest, he is the BEST! Thank you for your hard work and dedication with individual attention. I could not have asked for a better experience given the horrible circumstances I was up against.
My dad and I called Rick Unger to see if he could defend my case with equity loan that my ex taking me to court for. I explained my situation. He told us that I have a chance winning my case. During the conversation, he was charging me fees for the phone call which is completely understandable. About a month before my court date, Rick told me that he will not be able to defend my case because he was having surgery. He said that his associate, Robert, will be defending my case. I called his associate, Robert, to make sure that he knows about the case and if Unger explained it to him. Of course, he didn't know anything about the case and so I had to explained it to him because I want to be prepared before going to court. I didn't know I was getting charge again for that phone call. 10 minutes before going in front of the judge, Robert told me that he could not defend me because he has to leave and defend a different case. He didn't expect that it was going to take a long time before going in front of the judge. I was a little confuse because they usually are. He called another associate, Randy Rodnick, to defend me. Robert had 10 minutes to explain my case to Randy. By the time we were in front of the judge, my lawyer was clueless. For being unprofessional and unorganized, they cost me about $2,000 for losing the case. A month later, I received a bill from them. They charged me over $1,000 for the 2 phone calls explaining my case to 2 different lawyer, court appearance, postage to send me my bill, photocopies of the judgement and for calling them after court and letting them know I was very disappointed of how it turned out that day. I was not happy that I was passed around 2 different lawyer with 10 minutes. Needless to say, I will not recommend them to anyone ever.
