Mr. Pendas became an attorney once he realized there was a need to better serve those who are disadvantaged and have become victims of accidents. He personally witnessed many accident victims poorly represented which resulted in an inability to fully recover from the consequences of the accident. Often times their lives spiraling out of control because of the financial hardship suffered due to their inability to work. Many live check by check to pay and once they miss one paycheck everything falls apart. He felt he could help those victims get back on their feet and help them return to a prosperous life.

Athena Pearl Riley is a former felony prosecutor, licensed Realtor, and real estate investor. Mr. Fine was born in New York, New York and was raised in the northeast, where he studied sociology at Colby College in Waterville, Maine. He then graduated with honors from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 1976. In law school, he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. Mr. Fine was admitted into the Florida Bar in 1976, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida in 1977, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida in 1991, and the United States Court of Appeals 11th Circuit in 1982. Upon graduation, Mr. Fine practiced as an Assistant Public Defender in the Third Judicial Circuit office in Lake City from 1976-1977. He then worked as an Assistant Public Defender in the Gainesville office of the Public Defender from 1977-1980. In 1980, he founded the firm, which is now known as Fine, Farkash, & Parlapiano, P.A., where he wanted to exclusively represent victims of personal injury in claims against negligent parties. Mr. Fine is a highly experienced personal injury attorney and is recognized for his commitment to the law. He holds Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating* (AV) and was a Grievance Committee Chairman for the Eighth Judicial Circuit for 2006-2008. Stephen Bernhardt has been an attorney since he was 25 years old. Now, nearly a decade later, Bernhardt has extensive trial experience in both criminal and civil law. He began his legal career as a prosecutor, first handling misdemeanor offenses such as DUI, Battery, Possession of Controlled Substance, Violation of Injunction and many others. The two things that separate me from other lawyers are (1) my trial experience and (2) my experience on the opposing side. I have handled more trials in my first decade as an attorney than most attorneys will handle in their entire career. Additionally, as it pertains to criminal defense and debt defense, I have been the head attorney in my respective divisions for the sides I now go against. This gives me a big advantage in those cases. What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? When someone comes to me, it usually means they’re going through a tough time. Either they’ve been hurt, arrested or sued. Helping someone get through that difficult time by putting these legal issues behind them is very rewarding. What are your other interests in addition to law? I am a big sports fan and I also love to travel.
