Jean Pierre Espinoza is a native of Lima, Perú. In 2004, Mr. Espinoza graduated from Universidad de San Martin de Porres (USMP) with an LL.B. (Bachelors in Law) and a law degree. He was admitted into the Lima Bar Association (Colegio de Abogados de Lima) in 2006. In 2008, Mr. Espinoza graduated with an LL.M. (Masters in Law) in Comparative Law with a Certificate in International Business and Trade Law from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. In 2010, he graduated with a Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law and was admitted into the Florida Bar Association. He has been licensed to practice law in Florida for more than 10 years. He has been immersed in both legal systems: civil law and common law. He worked as a NAFTA Panel Assistant and a Research Assistant for the Center for Governmental Responsibility of the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law. When a law student, Mr. Espinoza was granted the Florida Bar Foundation fellowship and he spent an entire summer as an intern in the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center (FIAC) in Miami, Florida. Also, while in law school, he was one of the founders and the first president of the Immigration Law Student Association (ILSA) at Stetson University College of Law. He researched different topics of immigration law and as a result, he published legal articles in venues such as Florida International Law Journal, Benders Immigration Bulletin, Journal for Migration and Refugee Issues, and Immigration Daily. Mr. Espinoza has been a speaker in venues such as Polk County Courthouse and Stetson University College of Law. He is constantly invited to speak to the Hispanic community in central Florida in churches, non-profit organizations, and educational events. He has been interviewed in the past by newspapers, radio stations, and television news programs. Mr. Espinoza is fluent in English and Spanish and has a basic knowledge of Portuguese. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the Lakeland Bar Association (LBA), and the Catholic Lawyers’ Guild of Central Florida. He is the current president of the Hispanic Bar Association for the Tenth Judicial Circuit.
