Questions & Answers
Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.
I recently settled a COViD death case. The decedent contracted COViD and died within a few days. However, the decedent happened to get sick after the expiration of the California industrial causation presumptions. We pressed on anyway and were able to settle the case for over $80,000.
How did you build a successful practice?
Our practice is successful because we pay attention to the client, we are responsive, and we get results.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?
Clients should feel like the attorney listens to them and is being honest with them.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?
In workers compensation it is important to know the local treating doctors and local Panel Qualified Medical Evaluators. It is difficult to manage a case when you can't refer a client to a good doctor. This is why we try to limit our practice to LA, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?
I can explain the entire Workers' Compensation process over the phone from beginning to end. However, it is quite a bit of information and I prefer to meet the client in person.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?
I need to know the date of the injury, the name of the employer, how the injury occurred, whether the injury was reported to the employer, and whether medical treatment has been received.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?
Some firms have a huge team of assistants that work on different aspects of the case. The case is handed off from one person to another to another. The difference is that I manage each case personally. When the client calls the office, they will either speak to me or my secretary. It's not going to be a different person each time the client calls.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?
The most rewarding aspect is when the client fells like we have done a good job and they trust us enough to recommend a friend or family member.
What are your other interests in addition to law?
Running, cooking.
Are you involved in your community?
At this time, my kids take up most of my free time with their sports activities.
