About Meagan
After law school, Meagan joined Cox Smith Matthews, the largest local firm in San Antonio, where she benefitted from big-firm training and resources to hone her litigation skills. In 2011, recognizing both her skill and enjoyment of research and writing, Meagan took advantage of a unique opportunity to serve as Law Clerk for United States Magistrate Judge Pamela Mathy. While with the Court, Meagan gained particular experience in federal practice and procedure, and complex disputes involving patent infringement, commercial contracts, and employment matters.
Today, with the firm, Meagan's practice focuses on representing property owners, developers, and contractors in construction disputes. She assists clients' in pursuing claims for delays, construction defects, design defects, manufacturing defects, and wrongful termination. Her clients include commercial developers in the multi-family and mixed-use markets and the hospitality industry, as well as public road and utility contractors.
Clients rely on Meagan to provide detailed analysis of their case, superior legal research and drafting, powerful advocacy, and guidance through the litigation process. Meagan regularly handles complex pleadings, case-dispositive motions, jury charges and questions, and post-trial briefing. In her practice, Meagan also routinely consults with engineers and design professionals throughout the litigation process, from the initial stages of preparation of Certificates of Merit through trial preparation.
Meagan also advises and assists individuals and business clients with contract disputes, consumer protection claims, disputes with insurance companies, negligence claims, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and employment termination and discrimination claims. Meagan represents clients in state and federal court, as well as arbitration.
Meagan was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 2005, and is licensed to practice in the State Courts of Texas, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all United States District Courts in Texas.
