QUESTIONNAIRE
Last year, through representing a client on a highly-contested Family Law court matter, I enabled him to obtain further visiting rights to his two children, re-obtain property items from the other party that are his, and pay a fair amount of financial support for his children based on his income and circumstances trying to obtain more adequate housing for his children and him.
How did you build a successful practice?I have built a successful practice through hard work, dedication to my clients, and perseverance in all senses.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?In Family Law, I believe that clients should look for someone who is hard-working, competent, and dedicated above all to representing their rights and interests and the best interests of the children.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?It is very important to have a solid understanding of local knowledge in Ottawa for Family Law, most of including how the court process and procedures are at the Ottawa courthouse.
What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?In a free phone consultation, I can provide general legal advice on all Family Law issues. I always assure prospective clients that all general legal advice that I give and information that the prospective client gives is strictly confidential from the moment that the client and I first interact and forever afterwards.
What information do you need in a free phone consultation?I need to know if you live in the Ottawa area, when the next court date is for you (if you have one), the main Family Law issues that are in your matter (i.e. custody, child support, equalization of property, etc.), and an estimation as to your current income.
What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?I practice Family Law in English and in French, and I am responsive to clients and dedicated to representing them through the potential ups and downs and uncertainties in their legal matter and in their working relationship with their lawyer.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?The most rewarding aspect is helping someone and their children move forward in their lives despite difficulties in the present and potentially in the next short or long-term stage of their lives.
What are your other interests in addition to law?I like staying active (golf, hockey), social, and am family-oriented.
Are you involved in your community?I have taken the Christopher Leadership Course and helped individuals and families in Canada privately sponsor refugees from overseas.
