Questions & Answers

How did you build a successful practice?

Lots and lots of hard work to start from the ground floor up; getting the necessary experience working with respected attorneys before starting my own firm; being aggressive, but not overly aggressive; choosing to focus my area of practice strictly on criminal defense and not trying to do too many things at once; gaining the trust of my clients who have gone on to refer me to their friends and family members.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Someone who is familiar with the particular court, prosecutors, and law enforcement agencies associated with their case; someone who is honest about the likely outcome of the case, and doesn't make big promises they can't produce; someone who has focused their practice on criminal defense and has many years of experience; someone who is well-respected in the legal community; someone whose personality you feel comfortable with.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

The consequences of the allegation; basic background for how the prosecutors in their jurisdiction deal with the charges; what kind of costs they are looking at; getting them directed on how to best protect themselves and being proactive in minimizing or eliminating consequences.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

Basic facts of the case; whether or not the person has prior criminal history; access to documents they might have already received regarding the case; which courts, jurisdictions,and/or law enforcement agencies are involved; citizenship or immigration issues; current employment information; possible licensing issues involved.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

Exercise; spending time with family; hiking; reading novels; going to Seahawk, Husky, and Mariner games.
