Attorney Burgos received his law degree in 1987 from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico. His experience started in 1987 when he was hired by the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), currently known as USCIS under the Attorney General’s National Honor Program. By 1988 Attorney Burgos became a Federal Prosecutor for the INS in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Later on, in 1990 he also performed as a prosecutor for the INS in the states of Florida, New York, Louisiana, and Texas. He held this position as a trial attorney for eleven years, representing the United States in deportation proceedings conducted before immigration courts. Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

Represented the son of a Presidential candidate from Colombia who was subjected to political persecution in his country. Advocated his case before the asylum unit in NJ for years, until he eventually graduated from Princeton University and was offered a position by a prestigious organization in NY. We then change our strategy allowing him to obtain an H-1B non-immigrant visa.

The old fashion way. Hard work.
