Bruce A. Mason grew up in Fairmont, West Virginia. He graduated magna cum laude from West Virginia University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business finance. Bruce attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law and graduated in 1989. After working with the firm of Pennington and Wicks, Bruce founded Mason & Mason in 1993 as a general trial practice specializing in criminal defense with a concentration in personal injury representation. The North Carolina State Bar recognizes him as a board certified specialist in state criminal law. Bruce maintains an “excellent” rating by the national lawyer rating service of Martindale Hubbell. Bruce practices extensively in Federal Court and is a member of the C.J.A. Panel which is comprised of attorneys selected by the Federal Judiciary to represent clients in Federal Court by appointment. Bruce concentrates his practice in the areas of criminal defense , driving while impaired defense , traffic law and personal injury . James Moore is a true Wilmington native. His parents, who own a construction company, have been building in the area for decades. A graduate of Hoggard High School, James decided to stay close to home and attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. While an undergraduate, James kindled a passion for law by taking a part-time job at Shipman & Wright as an office clerk. After earning his degree in business administration in 2003, James became a paralegal at the firm, and two years later entered Campbell University School of Law where he received numerous awards and honors. Upon graduation, James returned to his Wilmington roots and rejoined the Shipman & Wright team as an attorney. James focuses his practice in the areas of Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, Business Litigation, Construction Litigation and Mass Torts in both the state and federal courts. James’ impact as a lawyer and professional hasn’t gone unnoticed. Christina Rivenbark is the founder of Christina Rivenbark & Associates and has over 30 years’ experience protecting the rights of individuals charged with crimes and those who have been seriously injured in accidents in North Carolina. Christina grew up in Pender County and his lived in Wilmington since 1990.Christina graduated in 1987 from the University of North Carolina School of Law. She is a former claims attorney with a large insurance company in North Carolina and knows the process insurance companies use to settle claims with accident victims.

Leeza has been practicing law since 2010 when she graduated from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, NY. She moved to North Carolina in 2021, and now focuses her practice on personal injury, criminal defense and estate planning and protection. James L. Henson graduated with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.A. degree in psychology and received his law degree as part of the Charter Class of Elon University School of Law with a litigation concentration. As part of a military family, Mr. Henson was raised in Jacksonville, North Carolina and currently resides in Wilmington.

From a young age, Gary Shipman knew he was destined for the courtroom. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, he earned his law degree from Campbell University School of Law at the age of 24. Two years later, Gary founded his own firm, and he hasn’t looked back since. Gary has spent over forty five years trying cases nationwide, including complex and consequential cases involving personal injury, commercial litigation, professional negligence, and class actions. His courtroom presence and dogged advocacy have earned him a national reputation, and his peers have recognized him as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2007 and as a Super Lawyer since 2006. He has also spent twenty years as a youth baseball coach and developed a full-service sports agency, Atlantic Sports Management, in 2013. Gary is certified as a contract advisor and agent by the NFL and NBA, and his clients include coaches and athletes. Gary and his wife, Mary Jo, have three sons. In addition to his legal and community work, Gary is a frequent speaker and lecturer in continuing legal education seminars and at his alma maters, UNC-Wilmington and Campbell University School of Law. Christopher L. “Chris” Oring is a dedicated litigation attorney at Christina Rivenbark & Associates, where he represents clients in criminal defense, traffic matters, expungements, and DMV-related issues throughout New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick Counties. With more than 25 years of legal experience, Chris is known for his calm, compassionate presence and his commitment to treating clients with dignity, respect, and understanding—values that align perfectly with our firm’s mission. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Chris received his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Akron and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Toledo College of Law. While in law school, he served as Editor of the Law School Newspaper and gained diverse legal experience working with private firms and a State Court Appellate Judge. After moving to North Carolina in 1996, Chris began his career in Wilmington and soon opened the Law Firm of Chris Oring, where he spent 24 years representing clients across a wide range of legal matters. His work included criminal and traffic defense, personal injury, workers’ compensation, child support, DSS cases, DMV hearings, expungements, and general civil litigation. His commitment to service earned him annual statewide pro bono recognition, and in 2021, he was honored as North Carolina’s Criminal Defense Attorney of the Year by the North Carolina Business Journal. Chris briefly stepped into the pharmaceutical sector to broaden his professional experience, working with Parexel International and PPD. While he excelled in that role, he ultimately realized that his true passion remained in helping people directly through the justice system. Andrew R. Dempster Jr. "Drew" is a second generation attorney. Drew grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina where he graduated from Pine Forest High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Methodist University and his Law degree from North Carolina Central School of Law. Before joining the Smith Dickey Dempster Law Firm, Drew was an Assistant District Attorney in Cumberland County, North Carolina.
