I litigated against a local hospital and argued a novel concept for elder abuse based upon the administrative policy of maximizing profits by causing staff shortages, which lead to a diminished quality of care for patients. The hospital argued that the claim should have been limited to medical negligence; however, the Court ended up agreeing with my client.

I am a very hands-on attorney. I rarely rely on staff for case handling. This makes a difference in all cases.

Honesty and transparency. I tell it like it is. I do not sugar coat the facts of the case to the client because I do not believe in heightening expectations.

With over 20 years of experience ranging from insurance defense to consumer claims, I have seen pretty much everything. That said, my approach is to never leave a stone unturned.

Depending on the claim, I can tell right off whether I will be willing to take the case. If I do decide, my preference is for an in-person interview. I like to meet my potential clients so that we both can feel comfortable.

Most injury cases depend heavily upon the date of injury, location of injury, witness information, liability factors and extent of injuries.

Most lawyers depend on support staff. I don't. From the very simplest tasks to trial work, I do it all because I want to know it all, and I don't like to miss things. I don't rely on others because at the end of the day, it is my integrity as a lawyer on the line.
