I am a native of Long Island, NY who came to Iowa in 1984 to attend the University of Iowa on a Field Hockey scholarship. I finished my BS in Sociology and Political Science in 1988 and then spent 2 years abroad. I returned to the University where I obtained my Juris Doctor in 1991. During law school I worked part time as a prosecuting attorney for the Johnson County Attorney's office. Later, I clerked for Jim Hayes at Meardon, Sueppel, Downer and Hayes. After law school, I moved to Orlando to work at Foley and Lardner, a large national law firm, gaining valuable experience in their litigation department. In 1998 I returned to Iowa City to work with Jim Hayes. In 1999, we opened Hayes Lorenzen Biderman Lawyers, PLC and have been pursuing cases on behalf of injured plaintiffs ever since.
