About James
Jim graduated from Xavier University (A.B., cum laude) in 1968, and the Notre Dame Law School (J.D.) in 1971. He currently focuses on Elder Law issues, working on cases involving probate, trusts and guardianships. Jim assists in the administration of estates of all sizes in Fairfield and other central Ohio counties. He advises clients of the Firm with respect to their estate planning needs. He is Outside Counsel to the Attorney General of Ohio for Medicaid Recovery. Jim enjoys his adoption practice and successfully argued the case of In re Ridenour before the Ohio Supreme Court in 1991. He was one of the attorneys of record in In re Zschach, decided by the Ohio Supreme Court in June 1996. He is licensed to practice in Indiana and Illinois as well as Ohio.
Jim is a member of the Fairfield County and Ohio State Bar Associations, and Central Ohio Estate Planning Council. He is a frequent speaker for the Ohio State Bar Association in the areas of Elder Law, Adoption and Wealth Transfer. He is a member of the Bar Admissions Committee for Fairfield County. He is a past president of the Lancaster Sertoma Club and served six years on the Board of Governors of the Lancaster County Club. He has served on the Board of the Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce. He is a life member of Who's Who, and a member of the Lancaster Chapter of Symposiarch.
