About James
Jim Leventis was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. For many years, his family owned and operated the Winner's Circle Restaurant on Green Street across from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Through his family's business, Jim met many of the lawyers in South Carolina. He graduated from USC with a degree in marketing and finance in 1984, then attended the University of Hawaii before enrolling in the USC School of Law, from which he received his law degree in 1988. Jim is the fourth lawyer in his family, including his brother Leigh and sister Gigi. Following law school, Jim spent a year serving as law clerk for the Honorable Sidney T. Floyd, Circuit Court Judge for Horry County, South Carolina. He then opened his own practice in Columbia in 1990. Jim's many years living in Columbia have allowed him to develop strong relationships with many in the local, county and state law enforcement communities and those ties give him a unique ability to resolve cases on behalf of his criminal clients. The trust and loyalty Jim has developed in the Columbia area legal community are two of the most important qualities which enable him to produce results for his clients. He has the unique and valuable ability to make others want to help. Jim is licensed to practice in all local, county, state and federal courts in South Carolina.
