About James

James Justice "J.J." Partlow was born and raised in Sanford, Seminole County, Florida. As a senior in high school, he interned at Stenstrom, Mclntosh, Colbert, Whigham & Partlow, P.A. In 1994, the firm hired him as an associate attorney. He became a partner in the law firm in 1999.

During J.J.'s years of practice with the Stenstrom, Mclntosh, Colbert, Whigham & Partlow, P.A., he has handled numerous trials and hearings in the areas of divorce, child custody, child support, equitable distribution, paternity, dependency and shelter petitions, enforcement of agreements, setting aside agreements, step-parent adoptions, contempt, enforcement, alimony, domestic violence injunctions, attorney's fees, mediations, preparation and defense of prenuptial agreements as well as preparation and defense of postnuptial agreements.

In 2006, J.J. became a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator both in the areas of county court and family law and includes this in his practice. He has participated in numerous family and civil mediations and recognizes the importance of the mediation process.

In addition to his family law practice, J.J. has extensive experience in the areas of probate and probate litigation. He has taken his experience in probate litigation and has applied it to his practice in crafting wills, trusts and other estate instruments.

As a Guardian Ad Litem, J.J. has represented the interests of minor children, as well as incapacitated adults. His service in this area has proved beneficial in his guardianship practice and in the preparation for and the defense of custody cases.

J.J. has always shown great compassion and dedication to people in need in the Central Florida area which he calls home. He devotes a substantial amount of time to pro bono work in the area of family law. In 2002, The Florida Supreme Court recognized him with the Florida Bar President's Pro Bono Service Award. J.J. has served as President of the Seminole County Bar Association, as well as the Seminole County Legal Aid Society. He currently serves as the Bar Bench Liaison for the Seminole County Bar Association and as a member of the Florida Bar Grievance Committee.
