About Jane
JANE S. KELSEY is a former judicial clerk to the Honorable Robert Longhi and the Honorable J. Norris Harding, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division, Middlesex County. She was certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Civil Trial Attorney in 1994, and was recertified in 2001and 2006. As a former name partner with Reiseman, Sharp, Kelsey and Brown (1985-2000) and now with the Lum firm, she concentrates her practice on both the prosecution and defense of medical malpractice actions. She has acted as defense counsel for Princeton Insurance Company, The MIIX Group of Companies, Zurich Insurance and Preferred Physicians Medical. She has also acted as litigation counsel for the Liberty Healthcare System. She has conducted risk management seminars for various physicians groups and residents, and was a legal commentator for the magazine, Medical Economics. She is also a trial practice lecturer for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. She is the Vice Chair of the Medical Malpractice Committee of the NJSBA and is a member of the Civil Trial Bar of the NJSBA, the Litigation section of the ABA, the Essex and Morris County Bar Associations and the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey (TANJ). She is also the former Co-Chair of the Essex County Bar Association Legal/Medical Committee. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New Jersey, and the Supreme Court of the United States, and is a New Jersey Court Approved Mediator. She also has been appointed by Chief Justice Deborah Poritz of the New Jersey Supreme Court, to the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Attorney Trial Certification, and the New Jersey Supreme Court committee on Women in the Courts.
