About Jason

Shapiro & Mack was formed in January, 2005, when Jason A. Shapiro and Paul E. Mack, two partners in a 50-plus member Maryland law firm decided to start their own boutique litigation firm so that they could provide better service to their clients.

Jason had been Chief of the Criminal Defense Department of that law firm and Paul had been his junior partner. Prior to working in that law firm, Jason operated a Columbia law firm with another partner. That partner is now one of the five (5) judges of the Circuit Court for Howard County. Going even further back in time, Jason served in two different prosecutor offices in the State of Maryland. It was in those prosecutor offices that Jason honed his skills as a litigator and began making numerous personal and professional connections. Jason handled a myriad of cases, from disorderly conduct to death penalty murder cases. He has been to, as both student and teacher, an array of trial schools, such as “Jury Trial School,” “DUI/DWI Trials,” “Using Demonstrative and Physical Evidence,” “Persuasive Opening Statements and Closing Arguments” and the like. Jason concluded his career as a prosecutor as an award winning Assistant State’s Attorney in the Howard County State’s Attorney’s Office.  He has been honored for several years by "Best Attorneys in Maryland," "Best Lawyers in America," and by Maryland's "Superlawyers."

Shapiro & Mack offers superior representation at reasonable fees. All criminal fees are based upon flat fee pricing (and we honor payment plans!). All personal injury cases are based on a percentage of the amount recovered.
