I graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law, Grand Forks, North Dakota in 1991. I was a member of Law Review, and worked at the Thormodsgaard Law Library while attending law school. I attended a summer term at the University of Oslo, Norway and studied international legal studies there.

I am experienced in elder law, guardianships, family law, child protection, and limited other issues.

I am a Rule 114 ADR mediator in Minnesota.

After Law School, I worked as a mental health counselor in a Rule 36 home for serious and persistently mentally ill persons including administering neurotic medications as well as overseeing patient health and activities. This training provided me with a thorough background of various physical and mental diagnoses. I have used this training in working with persons who are facing civil commitment. and have successfully represented clients appealing civil commitment orders.

I am significantly involved in the community and have served on such boards as the Lakes Area Pregnancy Support Center (LAPS) board, and I served as secretary for the Gordon Rosenmeier Board for State and Local Government.
