About Jennifer

Jen Doughty received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy Studies and Certificate in Health Policy from Duke University in 1997 and earned her J.D. and Certificate in Public Interest Law from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2002. Jen moved to Mobile with her husband and son in 2006.

 

While at Santa Clara , Jen was a semi-finalist in the Honors Moot Court Competition and later served as a member of the Honors Moot Court Board. She worked as a research assistant for Professor Kenneth Manaster during her second and third years of law school and is credited in Illinois Justice: The Scandal of 1969 and the Rise of John Paul Stevens (University of Chicago Press, Chicago, IL, 2001). Additionally, Jen received a Public Interest and Social Justice Endowment Summer Grant for her work with the National Health Law Program and the California Public Interest Research Group.

 

At Duke, Jen was an Atlantic Coast Conference Top 16 finalist and four-year varsity athlete in swimming. She interned with the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) in Washington, D.C. and also studied abroad for one semester at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, with the Duke Public Policy Abroad program.

 

Jen has experience in premises liability, labor and employment, environmental, health, and business law.  She is admitted to practice law in Alabama and Mississippi.
