About Jessica

Jessica Natasha Mazur is a Partner in Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas’ Family Law Department and an AV-rated® attorney by LexisNexis® Martindale Hubbell™.  She is also Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Attorney. Providing comfort and closure to people enduring the most stressful experiences of their lives, Jessica has risen quickly in this area of law.  Her experience has enabled her to represent clients involved in complex custody battles, divorces, child support matters, prenuptial agreements, domestic violence disputes, visitation/parenting time issues, equitable distribution, civil unions, and restraining orders.

Jessica’s career, spanning over a decade, began in the trenches of the legal community as a legal secretary, as she worked her way through law school. Rising steadily, she ultimately became partner and owner of the very firm where she was once a legal secretary. Jessica is now one of 120 attorneys in a state of over 80,000 attorneys, that is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney. The Board on Attorney Certification was established by the Supreme Court of New Jersey in 1980 for the purpose of helping consumers find attorneys who have a recognized level of competence in particular fields of law. Attorneys may be designated by the Supreme Court as "certified attorneys" if they: are able to demonstrate sufficient levels of experience, education, knowledge and skill in a specific area of law or practice; have passed a rigorous examination; and have been recognized by their peers as having sufficient skills and reputation in the designated specialty.

Jessica has successfully taken cases through trial, arbitration, the Appellate Division (see Hatcher v. Hadiddou) as well as mediation, the collaborative law process, and the Early Settlement Panel, balancing all available litigation options to serve her clients’ needs. Jessica was appointed by the Presiding Judge of the Family Division in Middlesex County to aid litigants in resolving their cases as an Early Settlement Panelist. She has also been admitted to the roster of Mediators for Economic Aspects of Family Law Cases.  In this age of growing technology, Jessica has been called upon to lecture other attorneys on the intricacies of the Federal Wiretap Act, addressing email spoofs and social media hacking and the impact upon Divorce, Custody, and Domestic Violence litigation. She has appeared as a legal expert on America's Premier Lawyers on CNN Airport TV Network. She was also recognized in Time Magazine's 85th Annual Salute to Women In Leadership and served as the Law Clerk to the Honorable Paul A. Kapalko, J.S.C., while he was the Presiding Judge of the Family Part of Monmouth County.

If you happen to find Jessica outside of the Courtroom, you might catch her flying a plane or riding a motorcycle. Jessica started flying at the age of 15 and obtained her private pilot’s license a mere three years later. Through her legal career she has continued to conquer boundaries as the sky is no longer her limit.
