About Jodi

Jodi Orlow's first interest in law began during high school when she worked for her father, Alexander A. Orlow, Esq., who is presently her partner. She computerized his office by creating word processing documents for all his legal forms, at a time when computers where not commonplace in law offices. Ms. Orlow received a B.A. in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany in 1987. Inspired by her father, she attended St. John's School of Law and received a J.D. in 1990. While in law school, she interned for Justice Joseph Kunzeman of the Appellate Division, Second Department.

During law school, Ms. Orlow clerked for the Manhattan firm of Evans, Orr, Pacelli, Norton and Laffan, P.C. After she graduated, the firm hired her as an associate. Evans, Orr gave her the opportunity to try personal injuries cases right after law school, for the Motor Vehicle Accident Indemnification Corporation, a not-for-profit organization which covers persons injured by uninsured motorists. Since New York laws limits the financial liability for this organization, young associates at the firm were given the opportunity to litigate all stages of these lawsuits, including the trial. Evans, Orr enabled her to establish herself as a practitioner in her own right.

In 1993, Jodi Orlow together with her father formed the firm Orlow and Orlow, P.C. Since then she is the principal litigation attorney of the firm, handling employment matters, personal injury and various other civil litigation matters. She is often appointed by Supreme Court Justices to act as a referee in foreclosure matters and has also been appointed through the NYS Unified Court System to act as an arbitrator for the Attorney-Client Fee Dispute Resolution Program.

Besides practicing law, Ms Orlow is active in multiple legal organizations. She is presently active in the Brandeis Association, the Queens Chapter of the Women's Bar Association, the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York and the Queens Bar Association. Throughout the years, Ms Orlow has been a Continuing Legal Education Lecturer on multiple topics including employment law, evidence, and trials.

Another area that Ms. Orlow is involved with is her community. Her concentration is always around children's issues. She is on the Board of Directors of Temple Beth El and Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Yeshiva of Belle Harbor. She is also active in the Good Government Regular Democratic Club and the Queens County Democratic Organization. Ms. Orlow is married and has three wonderful children whom she considers her greatest accomplishment.
