John Mangialardi, Attorney

John Mangialardi was born and raised in Bronx County, New York. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Fordham University and a Juris Doctor Degree from St. John's University School of Law. During his time at St. John's University, John served as an intern in the Office of the Westchester County District Attorney. There, he obtained his fist "hands on" experience with the practice of criminal law. During law school, John was also an active participant in the St. John's University School of Law Moot Court program. Upon graduation from Law school, John was appointed as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx District Attorney's Office. He was assigned to the Sex Crimes Unit. Upon graduation from law school, John established a general practice in Westchester County, with a concentration on criminal matters. His practice serves the geographic areas of Bronx, Westchester, New York, Rockland, Queens and Orange counties. He also served as a judge with the St. John's School of Law Mock Trial Program. During his time as an attorney, John has tried in excess of one hundred cases to verdict. He is admitted to the bar before the Courts of New York State and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

John has been an active member of the Columbian Lawyers Association of Westchester County since 1987, serving as either an Officer or Member of the Board of Directors for ten of those years. He is also a member of the Westchester County Bar Association. Since 1988, he has been appointed as a Referee in foreclosures by various Justices of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. In 2003, he successfully co-chaired the election campaign of a candidate for Justice of the Supreme Court in the Ninth Judicial District (Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Rockland and Orange Counties). He has also served as moderator of the mock trial program at an elementary school in Westchester County.

John is also an officer in the Fifth Civil Affairs Regiment, 56th Brigade, of the New York Guard, where he holds the rank of Major. He is an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate and serves on the staff as the Regiment's S-1. As of November 2005, he became the Commanding Officer of the Regiment. As an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate, John has taken part in pre-deployment readiness exercises involving thousands of troops, preparing wills, powers of attorney, living wills and health care proxies for them. John also provides legal counseling to the veterans at the United States Veterans Administration Hospital in Montrose, New York. He is a graduate of the New York Guard Field Grade Officers Course (Camp Smith, New York). He has received the following military awards and decorations: New York State Meritorious Service Medal: New York State Defense of Liberty Medal: New York Guard Operational Support Medal: New York Guard Achievement Medal: New York Guard 1st Provisional Regiment Medal: New York Guard Commander's Recognition Award: New York Guard Six Month Service Ribbon.

Since 2004, John has been the co-host of Anything Goes, a cable television show in central Westchester County, concerning politics, law and current events. He resides in Westchester County with his wife and his two daughters.
