He is a graduate of Valdosta State University and the University of Georgia School of Law. He served in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and as the United States Magistrate Judge for the Valdosta and Thomasville Divisions of the Middle District of Georgia. John has served on numerous committees of the State Bar of Georgia and was President of the Valdosta Bar Association.
He is a Georgia Master Gardener and is actively involved in the Valdosta community. He is a current trustee of the Lowndes County Historical Society and treasurer of the Turner Center for the Arts. He has three children and six grandchildren.

How did you build a successful practice?We built a successful practice by listening and being available for our clients. Before designing an estate plan for a client, we consult with an expert. That expert is you. We listen closely to you, the expert on your family, to gain a thorough understanding of your greatest concerns and hopes for the future. Only then do we explain your options in clear, easy to understand language and create the plan that is right for you and your loved ones. Your specific needs and goals depend largely upon where you are in life’s journey.
What should clients look for in a lawyer?A client should look for a lawyer who cares about them and their situation. We care and are available to help.
How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?Knowledge is key. We focus on what is known in legal circles as estate planning, elder law, asset protection and closely related practice areas and are experts in those fields.

Are you involved in your community?Yes, we volunteer with Hospice of South Georgia and area nursing homes. Members of our team serve on the Board of the Turner Center for the Arts and the Lowndes County Historical Society.
