JON D. HOAG focuses his practice by representing employers in labor and employment matters before state, federal and administrative courts. He defends employers on matters involving wage and hour claims, disability claims, discrimination and retaliation claims, harassment claims, union issues, safety and health matters, and other labor and employment issues arising under state and federal laws.

Prior to joining Wessels Sherman, Mr. Hoag worked for a Chicago based defense firm and gained substantial experience defending a wide variety of labor and employment claims. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Hoag worked as a Human Resource Manager for the State of Missouri. In that role, he gained experience drafting employee handbooks and personnel policies, training employees, developing classification and pay plans, handling discrimination claims, and mediating employment disputes.

Mr. Hoag earned his Juris Doctorate degree magna cum laude from Northern Illinois University, where he was an assistant editor of the NIU Law Review. Mr. Hoag also earned a Masters degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources Management. He earned his undergraduate degree from Truman State University in Justice Systems.
