Ms. Karpe is counsel in the Business Department, specializing in Bankruptcy Law, Creditors' Rights and Work-Outs.  Her current concentration involves the representation of Indenture Trustees in cases of national and international prominence.

Ms. Karpe received her B.A. in 1980 from the State University of New York and her J.D., cum laude, in 1989 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.  She is admitted to the bars of the States of New York and Connecticut, and to the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Ms. Karpe is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association and the American Bankruptcy Institute.  She is a past recipient of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York's award for outstanding achievement as a Municipal Attorney.  Ms. Karpe is an active member of her community and has been on the board of numerous organizations for the benefit of children and the disabled.  She is also a volunteer mediator and arbitrator for the Civil Court for the City of New York (Small Claims Division).
