About Kathryn

Attorney Kat M. McClain was born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She left for a period of time in order to receive her education. She attended the University of Texas, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Pre-Law. During that time, she worked as a child advocate for East Texas Child Advocates, where she represented the best interests of children in court.

She then moved to Houston, Texas, one of the largest legal markets in the nation, to attend law school. While at the University of Houston Law Center, Ms. McClain was afforded many different opportunities, including clerking for a family law judge and for Rusty Hardin, a nationally-known attorney.

Shortly after she graduated from law school, she took a job as an associate attorney with a family law firm, just north of Houston. While in Texas, Ms. McClain was a certified mediator and conducted mediations for small claims courts and the Better Business Bureau.
In the Spring of 2011, Ms. McClain moved back to Wisconsin, in order to be closer to her family. Shortly thereafter, she opened her own law firm in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, where she practices family law and criminal defense. She looks forward to continuing her career in the Chippewa Valley.
