Atty. Kim M. Schmid, Attorney

Kim M. Schmid focuses her practice defending companies in drug and medical device litigation in courts across the country.  In addition to her defense litigation practice, she advises her clients on FDA regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.

In courts, Kim has successfully tried cases and defended medical device products including latex gloves, breast implants, hip stem implants, pain pumps, orthopedic devices, implantable cardiac care devices, suction devices, surgical instruments, device monitors and blood warming units, to name a few.  She has defended IDE products being evaluated in clinical trials as well as Class I, II and III FDA approved devices.  Kim has defended pharmaceutical cases involving generics, branded, OTC and Rx medications. Kim has served as national coordinating counsel and regional counsel in various pharmaceutical and medical device litigation matters.  She has written articles and presented at national seminars on issues relating to drug and device litigation.   Kim has defended individual lawsuits, cases involved in mass tort and multi-district litigation (MDL). 

Kim is an active member of the DRI's Drug and Medical Device Subcommittee and LifeScience Alley.
