About Kimberly

Kasey Sturm is an Associate with Stack & Associates. She joined the firm in 2004, bringing with her a strong track record of environmental advocacy. She has successfully represented individuals, businesses and non-profit associations in connection with environmental matters in state, federal and environmental courts.

Ms. Sturm received her J.D. and Master of Studies in Environmental Law (MSEL) from Vermont Law School in 2000. During law school, she worked with several environmental organizations including The Wilderness Society helping to protect Georgia’s forests, and The Nature Conservancy, where she worked on international carbon offsets and trading and matters involving the Kyoto Protocol.

A native of Georgia, Ms. Sturm returned to Georgia in 2000 where she started her legal career working with the Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper helping to protect water quality in the Upper Chattachoochee River watershed. She later joined the Georgia Center for Law in the Public Interest (now known as Green Law) as a Staff Attorney where she continued her environmental career, working with several public interest organizations and local community groups to ensure the protection of Georgia’s natural resources. Her work included grass-roots and community organizing, lobbying, administrative appeals, litigation in state and federal courts.

Ms. Sturm co-authored A Citizen’s Guide to Fighting Water Pollution in Georgia. She has given several presentations on citizen enforcement of the Clean Water Act. Ms. Sturm has also served on a number of stake holders groups including the group for the Industrial Stormwater Permit in Georgia.

Ms. Sturm earned a B.A. in History and Spanish from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Ms. Sturm was active in the Environmental Law Society and Student Bar Association at Vermont Law School.

Ms. Sturm is admitted to practice in Georgia and South Carolina.
