About Lisa
Lisa Kirsch Satawa is an experienced defense attorney whose practice focuses on criminal defense, children's rights, adoption, and the defense of juveniles charged with crimes. Ms. Kirsch Satawa's practice has a particular specialization in defending the rights of adults and juveniles charged with sexually assaulting children, and representing parents charged with child abuse and neglect in both the criminal and termination of parental rights arena. She has extensive experience in successfully defending medically intensive child abuse and neglect cases, including Munchausen by proxy, brittle bone disease, CVID and others. Ms. Kirsch Satawa has developed an excellent reputation for her work in this area, and was selected by the Michigan Department of Human Services (DHS) (formally the Family Independence Agency - FIA) to train their caseworkers in the investigation of such matters.
Ms. Kirsch Satawa has successfully defended juveniles charged with crimes ranging from assault to serious capital felonies, criminal sexual conduct, major narcotics cases, and school offenses.
Ms. Kirsch Satawa is also a certified adoption attorney who has successfully placed many children in loving homes.
Ms. Kirsch Satawa belongs to the National Counsel for Children, National Child Abuse Defense Resource Center, National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, State Bar of Michigan Children's Law Counsel and the Oakland Country Bar Association Juvenile Law Committee.
