About Lisa

Ms. Lisa Moore graduated from Columbia College in 1994 and received her law degree from St. Louis University in 1998. She began her legal career with the Firm while she was in law school and has went on to become a principal in the Firm sitting on the Firm's Managing Board and chairing several of the Firm's administrative committees. Ms. Moore's natural leadership skills are evident in her legal career as well as her business management career prior to attending law school.

A Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers-Rising Star, 2008, Ms. Moore is well known for her skills when dealing with complex and very emotional child custody cases involving abuse, neglect, mental illness, and drug and alcohol addictions. Ms. Moore's background in psychology, along with her direct and strong personality, make her a knowledgeable and zealous advocate for her clients who are often overwhelmed and fearful in light of the much higher risks that are at stake when dealing with issues such as abuse, mental illness, and addictions.

In the courtroom, Ms. Moore is prepared, focused, and a tireless advocate for her clients and she is known for her detail and preparation by judges as well as other attorneys. Child custody cases are very emotional and fact specific and each family has an individual set of circumstances that Ms. Moore understands, respects, and works to present to the court in a way that produces superior results for her clients.

In addition to her passion for working with families dealing with these very difficult issues, Ms. Moore has been a very active member of numerous professional organizations and has served in numerous leadership roles for the American Bar Association, St. Louis Bar Foundation, and Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. She has served for over 10 years on the Angel Tree Executive Committee that provides Christmas gifts to over 5,000 children in the St. Louis foster care system. She was awarded an Award of Merit by the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis for her work developing the "Read Across America Program," which matches lawyers with elementary schools to read to children and "Teens Speak Out." The latter program brings hundreds of high school students together for a one day forum with community leaders and officials during which the students make presentations regarding issues they want to address and effect change upon. Both of these programs are now utilized throughout Missouri and across the country based on her presentation and promotion through the state and national bar associations.

Ms. Moore is sought after to speak and write by numerous organizations. She co-authored "Execution of Judgments," a chapter in the Missouri Family Law Continuing Legal Education Desk Book, as well as various supplements to this chapter. She has authored various articles relative to family law issues, especially in child custody cases and has lectured on family law issues including "The Mental Health Profession, Duty to Warn"; "Equitable Distribution in Divorce Settlements"; "Tax Issues in Property Settlements"; "Custody Issues-Fantasy and Reality"; "Child Custody and Visitation in Missouri"; "Litigation Techniques-Presenting Your Case"; and "Psychological Assessment and Expert Testimony in Custody Cases."
