About Mark

Mark Loevy-Reyes (then known as Mark Reyes) graduated from Cornell Law School in 1992. Since that time, Mark has worked in a variety of jurisdictions and has experience in diverse practice areas.

Immediately after law school, Mark worked for three years in a civil legal services program providing free legal help to low income clients. That work included family, disability, civil rights, and education law in downstate Illinois.

For the next seven years, Mark worked for the City of Chicago's Department of Law. That work included prosecuting municipal code violations, including building code enforcement. For the last four years with the City, Mark's practice involved labor and employment law, which included working closely with the Chicago Police Department's administration in handling police misconduct cases.

From 2002 until 2004, Mark practiced disability rights law in Vermont. His practice included education and employment-related cases.

After returning to Illinois in 2004, Mark began his practice at Loevy & Loevy. He finds his current work to be the most fulfilling of his career. Mark has always sought to practice law to serve the public interest, and at Loevy & Loevy, he is able to perform the important role of holding government authorities accountable for constitutional violations which are an affront to government's role in our representative democracy. Mark is also proud to serve with the gifted and dedicated lawyers and professionals at Loevy & Loevy.
