Questions & Answers

Please describe a case in the last year or two where you made a big difference.

A disabled resident with cerebral palsy consumed a bite of pizza at a party despite being under the supervision for an aide. When the resident choked on the food, the aide's untimely and untrained response caused the resident's death. We were able to assist the family members through a very difficult time and achieve fair compensation for their grief and loss.

How did you build a successful practice?

Do what you said you will do when you said you will do it.

What should clients look for in a lawyer?

Experience, dedication, compassion, and just being a good person.

How important is local knowledge to the success of your cases?

It's important, but not critical. The court rules are essentially the same everywhere.

What information can you provide in a free phone consultation?

I like initial phone consultations. I can fairly quickly size up a case to determine if it is worthwhile for the caller or not.

What information do you need in a free phone consultation?

The who, what, where, when, how, and why concerning an accident or injury incident.

What differentiates you from other lawyers in your community?

Experience, experience, and experience. And, I work like hell to get the best result possible given the circumstances of the case.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

The smile and thanks that I get from the client when we have been able to make a difference despite the odds being against us.

What are your other interests in addition to law?

My family, Bengals football, Reds baseball, reading, hiking, and horse racing's premier events like the Kentucky Derby and the Breeders Cup.

Are you involved in your community?

Yes, every Saturday morning, I serve as a phone help-line volunteer for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Cincinnati calling back persons who need assistance with rent, utilities, furniture, food, clothing, and other needs.
