Experience:

Prior to joining Dann Pecar Newman & Kleiman, Mr. Breeden served as Vice-President and General Counsel for the Champ Car World Series.  During his tenure at Champ Car, Mr. Breeden was a member of the company's five-person executive management team.  He managed all legal affairs for the company, including contracts (venues, promoters, sponsors, teams, broadcasters, vendors, etc.), insurance (corporate and event), litigation, employment and corporate governance.  In addition, Mr. Breeden negotiated and documented M&A activities for Champ Car and several affiliates.


Highlights:

  •   Served as lead counsel in the drafting and negotiating of agreements for the acquisition of the Grand Prix of Long Beach from Dover Downs, and Grand Prix of Toronto from Molson Sports & Entertainment.
  •   Successfully negotiated and drafted television broadcast contracts with multiple broadcasters, including ABC/ESPN, NBC, CBS, SPEED Channel, Global ( Canada) and TV Azteca ( Mexico ).
  •   Represented Champ Car in successfully negotiating new chassis production agreements for each of the Atlantic and Champ Car Series, resulting in significant savings to teams.
  •   Successfully negotiated and drafted promoter agreements for seven new Champ Car venues in four years.
  •   Participated in negotiations and related documentation which resulted in the historic unification of the Champ Car World Series and Indy Racing League.
