About Megan

Megan is an accomplished attorney specializing in employment law and civil rights litigation on behalf of employees in both state and federal court, including appellate advocacy.  She graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 1994 and joined Pitt, McGehee, Palmer, Rivers & Golden in May 2000. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for Helveston & Associates, where she specialized in employment law.

Megan has the unique expertise of managing and prosecuting employment law class actions, group actions, and multiple party cases, with particular emphasis on ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FMLA, and EPA litigation.  She has gone up against companies such as SBC, Goodyear Tire in Ohio, Super Steel, Ford Motor Company, and Chrysler.  She is a tireless and passionate attorney who will not back down until justice is served.  In one instance, she fought for three years for a client so he could rightly get his job back.  In another case, Megan had so strongly argued her case in court that the opposing counsel settled prior to the verdict.

Megan's strong reputation amongst her clients, peers, and community is a product of her dedication and expertise in her field.  She is frequently appointed as a mediator for the Oakland County Circuit Court employment discrimination panel. She is a committee member for the National Employment Lawyers Association and a professional seminar speaker for the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association.  She is both a member and a mentor for the Women's Bar Association.  Megan conducts sexual harassment training for the National Association of Firefighters.  From 1991 to 2001, Megan served as a board member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).  Because of her track record and proven commitment to her practice, Megan was invited to be a guest on WTVS's show Due Process both in 2006 and 2008.

Megan is devoted to giving back to her community through a variety of pro bono projects and volunteering. In addition to her current work as a volunteer attorney and frequent speaker for the Epilepsy Foundation, she is also a house sponsor and builder for the Jimmy Carter Work Project through Habitat for Humanity.

Megan and her husband Camille, a commercial film editor, are the proud parents of their son Eli.  In her spare time Megan enjoys art, photography, traveling, biking, gardening, running, and yoga. She is fluent in French.
