About Michelle

After graduation from law school at Southern Illinois University, I relocated to Central Illinois. I have been in private practice since that time concentrating in civil litigation.

I have limited my practice primarily to family law and regularly represent clients in dissolution, child custody, pension division, real estate and other civil matters. Most of my clients are referrals from other attorneys and previous clients based upon my experience and commitment to aggressive representation. The majority of my cases are tried in McLean; however, I also practice in the surrounding counties of DeWitt, Tazewell, Livingston, Logan, Woodford and Peoria.

Professional Organizations: Illinois State (Member, Illinois Bar Journal Editorial Board, 1997-2001) and American (Chair, Tort and Insurance Section) Bar Association; The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (Member, Civil Practice and Rules Committee); Robert Underwood Inn of Court.

Biography: Author: Chapter, Reformation of Contracts, Illinois Continuing Legal Education, 2001. Co-Author: Guide to Illinois QILDRO, Illinois Bar Journal, 1999; Protecting Evidence of Self-Critical Analysis, Illinois Bar Journal, 2000. Certified Arbitrator, McLean County, 1999. Fellow, Illinois Bar Foundation.

I am married to Michael Todd Scott and have three children.
