Matt Mahoney graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2001 with a Degree in Applied Mathematics in Engineering, and he graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2007. Before becoming an attorney he worked a wide variety of jobs including, among others: Class A CDL Truck Driver; High School Mathematics Teacher; Limestone Cutter; Carpenter/Laborer; Oil and Gas Research Technician; House Painter; and Legal Process Server. His work experience is integral to his practice of law in that it provides him with a perspective from which he can better relate to the problems faced by his clients. It is thus his mission to provide each client with the best, most personalized, representation possible. In his spare time, Mr. Mahoney enjoys mountain biking, golf, skiing, exercising, working on cars, the great outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Dan Christensen has been practicing law since 1994. He started his career working in military courts, notorious for their strict adherence to rules and procedures. For the last several years, Dan has focused his practice exclusively on representing injury victims. He has been involved in almost 200 trials during his career in numerous federal and state courts against the largest defendants, including the U.S. Government. Dan received a bachelor’s degree with Honors in 1991 and his J.D. with distinction from the University of Iowa in 1994. After graduating from law school, he served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) in Fort Hood, Texas. He served as a prosecutor and defense counsel in numerous administrative hearings and courts-martial ranging from minor offenses to kidnapping, rape, and capital murder. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army JAG Corps, Dan joined a Texas personal injury law firm. Dan worked as the Chief of its Litigation Department and was the firm’s principle trial lawyer for years, trying numerous cases each year. Also, as the head of the firm’s personal injury division, Dan supervised and mentored between 15 and 20 trial lawyers at a time as they prosecuted thousands of cases.

Meredythe is a fourth generation Austinite. She comes from a local insurance family going back three generations. Originally, her paternal grandfather was a well-known independent adjuster in the Austin area. Presently, her parents run their own, separate insurance agencies in the area. You could say it’s in her blood. After graduating from SMU Law, Meredythe started her legal career in Dallas working for a boutique commercial litigation firm before deciding to move home to be close to her family. Once home, she spent a decade of her legal career working on the insurance defense side of personal injury litigation learning how big insurance works against you. After years as a partner in a statewide defense firm, she got tired of fighting insurance adjusters who were more concerned with their bottom line than compensating those who are truly injured. Meredythe joined forces with her partner, Mark McLean, a seasoned Austin personal injury lawyer, in 2023 to form Heaton McLean Personal Injury Lawyers. She’s now passionate about fighting for your value, using her unique insight from her in depth experience on the defense side.
