PAUL Y. FENG received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 1983 with honors and distinction. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1989. He was elected to Tau Beta Pi, and Pi Tau Sigma Honorary Mechanical Engineering Society.

Prior to law school, Mr. Feng worked for three years at the General Electric Company in their manufacturing management training program. He rotated through management and staff positions in manufacturing and industrial engineering in GE's lighting business group, shop operations in GE's major appliance business group, and quality control in GE's aircraft engine business group.

At present, Mr. Feng concentrates his law practice in the areas of prosecution of patents and trademarks, domestically and abroad, and litigation of patents and related intellectual property matters in federal court. His technical expertise involves all aspects of the mechanical and electrical arts, including representation of clients ranging from the hand held tool design industry, to medical devices, to silicon-based accelerometers for military and commercial applications, and to home and office lighting. Mr. Feng is also highly experienced in obtaining patent protection for metallurgical inventions in the field of nickel-titanium alloys, known as nitinol. In fact, he has devoted seven years to developing the nitinol patent portfolios of clients in this growing technology.

Mr. Feng is admitted to the California State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a member of the Asian Business League and speaks conversational Mandarin.
