About Rachel
Rachel C. Welty
Rachel formed Welty Law Office in order to focus her practice in the areas of Family and Juvenile Law, including divorces, modification and contempt proceedings, child custody and visitation, parentage, child support, dependency and neglect, orders of protection, father's rights, adoptions, and juvenile delinquency. Rachel also spends time in juvenile court as a Guardian Ad Litem looking out for the best interests of children and serving as a defense attorney for juveniles. Through her practice of family and juvenile law, Rachel is able to advocate for children and give them a voice in a legal system where children all too often get lost. Additionally, she strives to provide her clients with quality representation from someone they can trust and confide in.
Originally from Ohio, Rachel graduated with honors from The College of Wooster in 2003, with a B.S. degree in Political Science. She received her J.D. in 2006 from the University of Akron School of Law where she was awarded The Cali Award of Excellence in Education Law. She was admitted to practice law in Tennessee in 2007. She is a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children and attended the 2008 National Conference in Savannah, Georgia.
Before becoming an attorney, Rachel was a Court Appointed Special Advocate, as well as a mentor for children in the foster care system. Currently, Rachel gives back to her community by coaching YMCA youth soccer. Rachel also enjoys spending time with her husband Todd, a helicopter pilot with the U.S. Army, and her dogs, Guinness and Stella.
