About Randall
Randall Reitz was born in 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri.From age two until his graduation from Salina Central High in 1989 Mr. Reitz lived in Salina, KS. After graduation, Mr. Reitz commenced his studies at the University of Kansas, and he graduated in 1994 with Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business.
Mr. Reitz next obtained a Masters Degree in Accounting and Information Systems, emphasizing in taxation and auditing, from the nationally recognized program at the University of Kansas. While pursuing this advanced degree, Mr. Reitz participated in the Arthur Andersen Tax Challenge and was honored to be part of the KU team that advanced to the National Finals. While studying in the Master’s program, Mr. Reitz instructed students on the fundamentals of accounting as a graduate teaching assistant inBusiness 240.
Upon graduation, Mr. Reitz accepted a position as a tax consultant in the tax department of the international professional services firm Deloitte and Touche LLP.While in the department, Mr. Reitz obtained the experience that provided an excellent foundation for his tax, business and estate planning practices. Mr. Reitz passed the Certified Public Accounting exam during his first sitting and was awarded his Certified Public Accountancy Certificate on July 17, 1996.
Looking to expand his professional horizons, Mr. Reitz commenced the study of law at the University of Kansas School of Law in 1996. During this time Mr. Reitz pursued a course load stressing the areas of taxation, business and estate planning. After graduation, Mr. Reitz accepted a position with the law firm Bever Dye, L.C. in Wichita,KS. While at Bever Dye, L.C., Mr. Reitz continued to increase his knowledge and experience in the areas of business, estate planning, probate and taxation law. Family interests caused him to return to Northeast Kansas in October of 2000.
Mr. Reitz represents clients in a variety of business, estate planning, taxation and related matters. This representation includes all matters of taxation, corporate choice and formation, merger and acquisitions, contract, real property and most other business related transactions. Some examples of Mr. Reitz’s areas of experience include preparation of private letter ruling requests, representing clients in audits conducted by the Internal Revenue Service, representing clients before the United States Tax Court,Federal District Court, state and local taxation, employment tax audits and trust fund recovery penalty representation, representing clients in business divestitures totaling over $24 million, probate litigation and insurance coverage litigation.
When not practicing law or spending time with friends and family, Mr. Reitz enjoys outdoor activities and spends his leisure time playing competitive tennis, scuba diving, snow and water skiing, jogging, listening to jazz and participating in barbecue contests. Mr. Reitz is a licensed Private Pilot and is currently pursuing an instrument rating. Mr. Reitz is an avid traveler and has visited countries throughout Europe and the Middle East.
