Mr. Stockenberg limits his practice to construction law.  He has over thirty-five years of experience in construction law.  His practice is devoted exclusively to serving the construction industry representing subcontractors, selected general contractors, owners and design professionals.  He specializes in filing and perfecting mechanic's liens, bond claims, negotiating and drafting contracts and legislation, and seeking creative solutions to troublesome problems.

Mr. Stockenberg has tried construction cases in various jurisdictions around the United States and has arbitrated to conclusion complex construction disputes.

Mr. Stockenberg is the author of numerous articles on construction law and was the editor and co-author of the Missouri Bar Association's Deskbook on Construction Law.  He has lectured to national audiences on a multitude of topics of interest to the construction industry, including design/build, risk allocation, indemnification, prompt pay, bonds, mechanic's liens and retainage.

Mr. Stockenberg has drafted bills of interest to the construction industry that have been enacted into law in Missouri.  He was the principal draftsman of the legislation enacting retainage reform (2002) and outlawing broad form indemnity clauses (1999) in Missouri.  He wrote the bill that was enacted into law by the 1995 Missouri legislature declaring contingent payment clauses to not be an impediment to the enforcement of mechanic's liens.

Mr. Stockenberg serves as general counsel to the American Subcontractors Association Midwest Council.  He chaired the National Attorney's Council of the American Subcontractors Association.  He chaired the American Subcontractors Association's National Task Force on the Reform of Retention.
