About Richelle

Ms. Wahi represents clients in all areas of family law.  Ms. Wahi works with clients to resolve financial and family law issues through settlement or litigation.  She frequently works on complex financial issues through settlement or litigation.  She frequently works on complex financial issues including properly valuations, executive compensation valuation and division, premarital agreements and spousal maintenance.

Ms. Wahi's practice focuses on minimizing the emotional and economic effects of divorce on families and children.  She effectively uses alternative dispute resolution when possible to minimize the damage marital dissolution litigation has on families.

Ms. Wahi also has experience in general litigation.  Her general litigation practice has included representation of a broad cross section of individuals and businesses in commercial litigation and business transactions.

In addition to her daily practice, Ms. Wahi is actively involved in USA Junior Olympic Volleyball in Minnesota.  She provides training and coaching seminars on volleyball technique.  She also enjoys hiking, kayaking and spending time with her family.

Representative Experience

  • Extensive experience in all areas of family law, including complicated marriage dissolution actions involving substantial financial resources; spousal maintenance cases; parenting and parenting time disputes; child support disputes; prenuptial agreements; and tax issues.
  • Successfully litigated and obtained a maintenance award of $29,500 per month, which also included an award of attorneys' fees in excess of $100,000.
  • Negotiated a settlement of highly contentious and complex property division in a marital dissolution case to include credit to Husband for his non-marital interests in a home, two family partnerships, and retirement accounts; negotiated settlement of equally contentious spousal maintenance in same case.
  • Successfully obtained an award of attorneys' fees in excess of $20,000 in family law case.
  • Experienced in Minnesota appellate courts.
