About Robert

Robert Steinberg graduated with honors from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 1982.

Subsequently, Mr. Steinberg practiced as a structural engineer designing structural systems for office buildings, heavy and light industrial facilities, and hospitals. Since February of 1988, Mr. Steinberg, having successfully passed the tests for professional engineer certification, is a licensed registered professional engineer in Georgia.

In addition to design work, he applied his engineering expertise to project management. Mr. Steinberg successfully managed to complete several construction projects ranging from industrial plant and warehouse expansions and renovations for Frito-Lay, Inc., and UPS in Texas, Kansas, California, upstate New York and South Carolina, to waterslides in Alabama, Michigan, and Georgia, to class “A” office buildings for Pierre Smirnoff and Rank Xerox in Moscow, Russia, to residential subdivision developments in South Fulton County, Georgia.

In February 2002, Mr. Steinberg graduated JD from Georgia State University College of Law. As of May 2003, Mr. Steinberg is a member of the Georgia Bar. Mr. Steinberg practices in the areas of construction litigation, surety defense, and commercial litigation.

Mr. Steinberg has represented clients ranging from sureties to owners, to general contractors, to subcontractors, in a variety of fora, such as state and federal courts in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Alabama, as well as arbitration and mediation. Issues included enforcing as well as finding ways to defeat “no damages for delay” contract clauses, impacts of multiple mobilizations, inefficient management, construction defects, constructive fraud, etc.

Additional issues involved implications of Miller Act, lien statutes, suits on account, quantum meruit, among others. Some of the larger projects included Georgia World Congress Center, a Forensic Hospital in Milledgeville, GA and Kennesaw State University Dormitories.
