About Robert
Robert M. Mendillo is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island (B.A., with highest distinction, 1976) and Boston College Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1980), where he was a member of the Boston College Law Review. Prior to joining Sally & Fitch LLP, Bob worked in various capacities including as an Assistant Attorney General in the Criminal Bureau of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office, an associate at Bingham, Dana & Gould, a litigation partner of Casner & Edwards LLP, and as a civil and criminal litigator in his own firm.
Bob has extensive experience litigating complex business disputes, bank and employment cases, as well as representing business entities and individuals in white-collar criminal defense litigation and government investigations. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Boston University Law School and has written articles for the National Law Journal, The Boston Business Journal and Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. His reported decisions include: Lainer v. City of Boston, 95 F.Supp. 2d 17 (D.Mass) (2000) (preliminary injunction prohibiting Boston Police Department from employing automatic arrest policy regarding resale of Red Sox tickets outside of Fenway Park); Williams v. Resolution GGF OY, 417 Mass. 377 (1994) (mortgagee conduct that caused plaintiffs no harm cannot be basis for G.L. c. 93 A liability); and, Veryfine Products, Inc. v. Colon Bros, Inc., 799 F.Supp. 240 (D. Puerto Rico 1992) (fruit juice company whose competitor infringed on its trademark label designs awarded $513,000, attorneys' fees, costs and injunction requiring immediate destruction of all infringing products).
