Mr. Robin Leaf Harrison, Private Law Practice

Professional Background

Mr. Harrison has focused his practice on trial and resolution of business disputes for more than twenty five years. He has extensive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in cases involving claims of breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, fraud and misrepresentation, misappropriation of trade secrets, professional liability and employment disputes. He has represented clients in a wide variety of industries, including banking and brokerage firms, oil & gas, real estate, industrial and consumer product manufacturing and computer software development.

Mr. Harrison earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michigan (B.A.1978, high honors, high distinction, Phi Beta Kappa; J.D. 1981). Upon his graduation from law school, he joined Liddell, Sapp, Zivley, Brown & LaBoon (now Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell, L.L.P.). In 1986 he joined the trial specialty firm Miller, Keeton, Bristow & Brown, where he became a partner in 1987. In 1991, he founded Campbell Harrison & Dagley L.L.P. Mr. Harrison is board certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has written and spoken on business torts, class-action litigation, accountant liability and Texas and federal civil procedure. He has been named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine every year since 2004.

Representative Cases and Results

Representing Plaintiffs:

$34,200,000 jury verdict against NYSE company in favor of equity investors and subsidiary company president in action for breach of contract for the sale of the subsidiary, wrongful termination and defamation of company president. 

$11,300,000 class action recovery for investors in case against national accounting firm for securities fraud.

$6,000,000 recovery for seller of a business against national accounting firm in action for fraud and misrepresentation arising out of purchaser's default under purchase agreement.

$4,000,000 recovery for minor child in products liability suit against manufacturer and dealer for negligence and products liability resulting in catastrophic burn injuries.

Representing Defendants: 

Take-nothing judgement in favor of Fortune 500 data processing company following three week arbitration hearing on a competitor's claim for $100,000,000 damages for alleged misappropriation of computer software trade secrets and misappropriation of confidential information. 

Successful representation of national mortgage company in arbitration of dispute concerning sale of multi-million dollar loan portfolio.

Judgment following bench trial in favor of interstate pipeline company alleged to have repudiated natural gas purchase agreement and affirming exercise of contractual repricing provision.

Successful resolution by settlement of action by former chief executive officer of a large manufacturing company alleging breach of executive bonus compensation plans.
